Thomas, McNerney & Partners has been actively investing in innovative healthcare companies since 2003. Previously, the firm’s founders directed the healthcare and medical technology practices at Warburg Pincus LLC and Coral Ventures. Our team of nine investment professionals has more than 150 years of combined experience in the health care industry, including more than 80 collective years of health care venture capital and private equity experience. The firm’s members’ backgrounds also include significant experience in large and small company operations, investment banking, sales and marketing, pharmaceutical R&D, strategy consulting and entrepreneurship. 

Lead Investors
The Thomas, McNerney & Partners team has an established history of leading financings and actively participating in portfolio company development by working with management and serving as board members. The partnership has led or co-led more than 80% of its investments and serves on the Board of Directors of over 90% of the companies. The team is actively involved in assisting portfolio companies in a variety of capacities, including defining business and strategic objectives, identifying and negotiating partnership and acquisition opportunities, formulating regulatory strategy, recruiting executive talent, analyzing new markets and introducing portfolio companies to capital sources.

Through the principals' longstanding participation in the industry, they have built strong relationships with senior company management, industry veterans, leading physicians, academic experts, other investors, corporate partners and investment bankers.
